Terms and Conditions

Introduction

This page defines the terms and conditions that apply if you decide to work with Delise Torres – Book Coaching Services.

Scope of Services

The coaching period starts once I’ve received a signed Book Coaching Agreement and your payment (see Payment section below).

All book coaching packages include worksheets for you to fill out and return to me. These include The Mini Blueprint and Blueprint for a Book.

If you choose the First 30 Pages Review or the Manuscript Evaluation, you’ll also submit your pages and/or full manuscript for my review.

We will mutually agree on the following deadlines:

When you will submit your materials to me.
When you’ll receive my feedback.
Date and time for 1-hr video call to discuss feedback and answer your questions.

Once I receive your materials, I will evaluate your work and send you feedback that consists of inline comments and/or an editorial letter detailing the issues I think you should work on first and a list of actionable next steps.

My typical turnaround times for sending feedback are:

Mini Blueprint – 3 business days
Blueprint/Revision Plan – 1 week
First 30 Pages Review – 2 weeks
Manuscript Evaluation – 4 weeks

Some packages (like the Blueprint) include more than one round of feedback. During the subsequent video call(s), we’ll agree on the deadlines for the next round(s).

Once we’ve completed the last round of feedback for the package, the agreement will be over. If you wish to continue working with me, we will enter into a new agreement.

Payment

Your payment for the book coaching package you selected will be due in full upon receipt of the invoice. Partial payments or payment plans will not be accepted.

Payments will be processed through PayPal and can be paid via the credit card of your choice.

All payments are non-refundable except as described below (Cancelation and Termination).

Coach-Client Relationship

The coach-client relationship is built on trust and open communication. You’re trusting me with your work and expect helpful feedback that will make your story stronger.

In order for a healthy coach-client relationship, Book Coach and Client will commit to the following:

We commit to be respectful and cordial in our communications with each other.
We commit to send our materials/feedback within the agreed upon deadlines and to communicate in a timely manner if we need rescheduling.
You commit to be open to receiving critical feedback, and I commit to offer objective and honest feedback that respects your vision. You are the owner of your story and I’m only there to guide you.
You commit to communicate any issues you may have with my work or feedback directly with me so that I can have the opportunity to address and resolve them.
You commit to being honest about your use of generative AI in the creation and development of your work (pages and/or manuscript). You also commit to refrain from using any generative AI tool to help you fill out the worksheets I send you. I commit to never feeding your work to generative AI or using any AI tool to generate the feedback I send you.

Intellectual Property

All coaching materials (Mini Blueprint and Blueprint for a Book) are the sole property of Author Accelerator, and are for Client use only. They may not be reproduced, distributed, or shared with anyone else.

All materials provided by you (pages and manuscripts) will remain your intellectual property. I will not reproduce, distribute, or share them with anyone else.

Confidentiality

I promise to never share your work (worksheets, pages, manuscript) or details about our working relationship with anyone else, unless authorized to do so (for example, via a testimonial).

Occasionally, I may share my general experiences with clients on my newsletter, blog, and/or social media, but I will never use any identifying information or excerpts from your work without your consent and/or approval.

Cancelation and Termination

Deadlines can be rescheduled by either party and will be communicated via email at least 24 hours in advance.

Either party may cancel this agreement by providing written notice to the other party.

Refunds will only be awarded in the following situations:

If Book Coach terminates the agreement due to inability to render services, Client will receive a full refund. For packages with multiple rounds of feedback, Client will receive a refund only on the services yet to be rendered.
For packages with multiple rounds of feedback, if Client terminates the agreement after one round has been completed and before the next one begins, Client will receive a partial refund for any services not yet rendered (minus transaction fees).

Limitation of Liability

I make no guarantees or warranties of any kind, expressed or implied, about results to be achieved. Book coaching does not guarantee literary representation, book deal offers, receiving awards, or general success in the publishing marketplace. If I am found liable for any loss or damage under this Book Coaching Agreement, the damages shall be limited to the total payment received under this contract.
